Reality is that these are actually swing voters. Many likely voted for the oil party in the 2010 mid-terms. If they were true indies, they would vote for neither of the titanic parties.
Regarding Salit & her group> not an actual "independent" effort either. Funded by Bloomberg, they have already succeeded in teaming up with titanic parties in overturning term limits (NYC) and blocking independents from the general election ballot (CA, WA).
