Why won't the GOP compete for African American votes?

"In many ways, it's a shame that African Americans will vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. " ~Eugene Robinson, The Washington Post

This article is a prime example of why Black voters will not advance in the US if they only vote...or put their eggs in one basket a.k.a the Democratic party. What major improvements has African Americans experienced lately? Has the number of Blacks in prison decrease nationally? Probably not and that is due to the fact that our political leaders also have their own agenda that they want to accomplish.

This post is right on the money. It's a complete shame that the GOP won't step up and pursue African American voters with as much vigor as they do other populations.

But in my personal opinion, it's an even bigger shame that Independent Voters, of all backgrounds, won't step up at all. Most feel so slighted by the two-party system that they're driven to the sidelines every election.

You seem like the kind of blogger that gets mad about this problem too. If I'm right and you're frustrated, I think we can help each other.

I'm Jon Barnhart of the National Centrist Party. We're a new political party that wants to shift the focus from partisanship to problem solving. But we can't do it without your support.

I'd love to hear from you. My email is jbarnhart@nationalcentristparty.org. Please check out our website and let me know what you think. Whether you're interested in the party or not, you've got a great thing here with this blog. Please keep it up, we need more voices like yours.
